Guide Review - IBM ThinkPad T41

5/26/04 - IBM's T series of thin and light notebooks has been very popular with corporate customers and for good reason. It comes with a standard three year warranty and a rugged magnesium chassis. It also features the Windows XP Professional OS that corporations prefer.

Powering the T41 is the Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz Processor. While not the fastest of the current mobile processors, it still is a very strong CPU that should handle all computing tasks. Matched to this is only 256MB of PC2700 memory. Most users will need to have this upgraded.

Storage is provided through a 40GB 5,400rpm hard drive. This is average for the thin and light desktop market at this point.

Graphics are an improvement over many corprorate notebooks. Many of them tend to use integrated graphics but the T41 uses the ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 graphics processor with a dedicated 32MB of memory.

Connectivity is a bit above average. While the system only features a standard 802.11b wireless, it does come supplied with a Gigabit capable Ethernet port. This is something that home users won't need, but might be desirable for corporate customers.

The biggest downside to the ThinkPad T41 is the price. The added warranty and features for the corporate market makes this an expensive thin and light system. But for those needing a rugged system, the T41 is an excellent choice.

Laptopul este editie speciala, avand o placa grafica deosebita ATI Radeon iar rezolutia ecranului este absolut uimitoare: 1400 x 1050 !!!
