All The Small Things

5,In this very old, magical place / I knew I was not alone.A vibrant, moving sophomore collection, All the Small Things offers a gentle reminder to readers young and old: You are not alone. Through poetic lyricism and whimsical watercolour illustrations, Libby McKechnie showcases the melodious union of her artistic gifts. In these pages, joy and grief overlap, and beauty arrives unexpectedly. Herons and owls coast and alight. Poppies brighten the hillsides of the mind. A girl and her dog quietly observe the morning sky. A child holds new life, a freshly hatched parakeet, in her hands. From Ballynahinch Castle to the Mus?e de l'Orangerie to the desert mountains of Santa Fe, these poems ask us to be still, to pay attention to nature and each other, to live in attunement to the world in all its changes. Deeply grounded in wonder and gratitude, All the Small Things is a celebration of artistry, the unaffected beauty of nature, and love's fiercest attachments.
