Hailing from the United Arab Emirates, Perversion shows us just how extreme music from the Middle East should be played. Their debut album ‘Pillars of the Enlightened’ contains 9 potent tracks of cut throat Death Metal with guitar solos reminiscent of the band s from the early 90’s Swedish scene!     Perversion has been around the Dubai scene since 2006; playing a very straight up style of death metal. Friends and band mates, Mahmud Gecekusu (Nephelium) and Rhama Al Rhama have been the driving force behind the band. While they were once a four piece, with Mahumd’s younger brother covering lead guitar duties, they were forced to become the only three piece death metal act in the UAE when Ahmet Gecekusu left Dubai for higher education.

    The band self released an EP in 2008 titled 'The Origins of Horror'. The band has shared the stage with Death Metal icons such as Hate Eternal and Grave, and have been part of European festivals with bands like Suffocation, Vader, Origin and Exodus all on the same bill. In 2012 the band put the finishing touches on their debut album 'Pillars of the Enlightened' in 2012 and will be released by Blast Head Records on July 30th, 2013.
