Brooks is a wife, mother, physician, minister, and author. She is a member of Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she serves as a Sunday School teacher and a local preacher. She is the author of Wednesday's Word: God's Word for God's People, a weekly devotional that appears on the Greater Warner Facebook page. She is married to Rev. Dr. Cleo A. Brooks, Jr., the Pastor of Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church. They have three children- Devyn, Lauren, and Jayden.
