MQ-9 sensor profile:

The gas sensing material used in the MQ-9 gas sensor is the two tin oxide (SnO2), which has a low electrical conductivity in the clean air. 

The electrical conductivity of carbon monoxide was detected by high temperature cycling test (1.5V). 

The electrical conductivity of the sensor increased with the increase of the concentration of carbon monoxide in the air. 

Using a simple circuit, the electrical conductivity can be changed to an output signal corresponding to that of the gas concentration.
